As a Private Pilot’s Licence holder, without a night rating qualification, you must only fly during daylight hours. The addition of a night rating allows you to also fly at night. The training for the night rating includes: a minimum of five hours of flight training, to include at least three hours of dual flight instruction to include a cross country flight.

at least five solo take offs and landings.

Here’s a link to the IAA website where you can download the Application for the issue of a Night Qualification (A).

We hope to begin offering night ratings in 2022. Please feel free to get in touch with us to discuss training with us for your Night Rating Qualification.
